Fluent or Fidap?
Folks, I need to use a CFD program to validate/check my experimental results I got for my arterial bifurcation research experiments. I am not sure if I need to use Fluent or Fidap for the purpose and I have not been able to gather a lot of info regarding the differences/uses of each of these software. I know that Fidap uses a Finite Element techniques to solve/model a problem but I am confident I can get similar results using Fluent as well...plz help....

I'd expect that there are small deformations of the artery during the pulsed blood flow. Keeping geometry constant and neglecting these deformations can cause the solution to be way off reality. This brings you in the domain of FSI.
Fidap has the capabiliy of dealing with such small deformations. Fluent has not; unless you couple it with a structural code like Abaqus, but that's is going to be a very tedious thing to do. The coupling exist though, and used MPCCI.
But if you can reasonably do without the fluid-structure-interaction, I'd use Fluent. It's a lt easier to use, and your experience with Fluent will have a more broad use in the future.
