axisymetric

Hello, I am using 2d fluent for simulating a rotating pipe. Like in fluent tutorial (vof) I used axisymetric model which is rotating. But that way it is only possible to export x and y component of velocity. However if the model is rotating there should be also z component. Am I wrong, is it possible to export it somehow?

Use 2D Axisymmetric "SWIRL" in the solver, not only 2D Axisymmetric....

so have a look in you settings...

Thanks, I already did that. So, when exporting, swirl velocitiy component is actually z component?

Yes, you are right:

Fluent components->radial components

x -> z component

y -> r component

z -> theta component (C_W or C_SWIRL)

So in gambit your geometry should have its rotating axis on the x axis. be carefull on that....
