Default Help: File Transfer from windows to Linux

Hi all

I seem to have a problem with file transfers from one platform to another. While I work on Gambit locally (using my own software on my PC), I tried to export the mesh to a server on which FIDAP was installed. This server runs on a Linux platform and doesnt recognize my FDNEUT files and meshes. Is it because of the OS mismatch? Is there any solution to this?

Ravi

Theres no official error message as such. FIDAP simply says the process(of running the file) has ended. When I go and check my FIPREP file that I input to Fidap from the command prompt window, I see large portins of blank areas where it was supposed to have shown by entity specifications and the input pressure and velocity conditions. This is what made me believe that there might be an OS mismatch happening in between.

Have you transfered your file in binary form? I had similar problems when trying to put my files from windows to unix in ascii mode. Switched to binary and solved the problem.

Hope this helps

Edi.
