Hi to all

I have a question: it's mistaken to carry out a laminar simulation with a value of Reynolds number of about 2000000?

Thanks

Hey Man: What's your problem. May be in flat plate yuo can do it but in pipe you can't. Because your problem become turbulent. Best Regards, Farid,

It depends on your problem. For example, if it is pipe flow (with a sharp-edged entrance), the laminar-turbulent transition takes place at approx. Re(-based on diameter of pipe) of 2300(Lower limit), and for a flat plate, Re(-based on distance from the leading edge) is around 3.2x10^5(lower limit)for transition.

Regards,

Rajesh

If your problem regards the flow on a cylinder you can find useful to read this tutorial:

http://www.fluent.com/software/stude...l_cylinder.htm

However if your flow has a Re of around 2000000 you have to use a turbulent approach. Regards Emanuele
