ERROR MESSAGE: line 1: parse error

Hellow Fluent users, I'm new in this forum as I'm new to FLUENT also.

I'm trying to understand the UDFs function, so I tryed the manual and it work fine until I tryed to interprete the simple function listed in the example of the manual.

So I runned to the internet to try to find an answer to my existential doubt "error in the line 1: parse error". What would be that error if I just copied exactly the same as in the manual ? And then I saw that this error is a commom error at the begging.

I would like to post here what I've done to fix this error.

1) I set the environment variable through the Start -> Programs -> Fluent.Inc -> Fluent 6.2.16 -> Set Environment (C:\Fluent.Inc\ntbin\ntx86\setenv.exe)

2) As I was running my case files and my UDF.c function in another folder I checked if the PATH to the case and to the UDF.c function was the SAME and WITHOUT ANY SPACE.

After doing this I could interpret the function without any error.

I hope that this note can help any other begginer as helped me.

Best Regards,

Lourival

Hey Man, May be you have entered the incorrect directory in the adreess of the file. For example your udf file is c:/ff/abc.c. You add it in intrepret window. If you see in the window the "c:/ff/abc.c" you must delete the "c:/ff/" and only see the file name in the window"abc.c". I hope that works for you. Best Regards, Farid,
