Hello, I am simulating boiling of a fluid in a tube. Therefore I use the UDF that fluent prescribes in an example: m_lg = -0.1*C_VOF(cell,liq)*C_R(cell,liq)*fabs(C_T(cell,li q)-T_SAT)/T_SAT as the source term in the equations. Does someone know where this formula comes from, what the theoretical background is of this formula? Thanks, Kaatje

I don`t know where is it from but on www.fluentusers.com you can find at least 2 tutorials aboute boiling (surface boiling). Maby it will help you somewhy regards grzes

I already tried out these 2 tutorials but they don't explain the UDF for the source terms. But thank you for your suggestion. Kaatje

Hi ,

the function is gotten by experience and lab analysis, you need experiment data about boiling rate then the coefficient of the function may be availiable. I also want to get Hydro oxygon boiling coefficient. if you know or you have any suggestion, please let me know!
