Hi all!

I've tried many times to simulate a flow over a wheel with the spokes (non flattened wheel). First of all, I used the no slip with rotating wall boundary condition in the whole wheel, but it didn't solve well the physics of the model: I realized that the wall-velocity boundary condition only describes the tangential component of the flow but not the normal.

Then I tried to use the Moving Reference Frame: I meshed the wheel in such a way that the inner part of the wheel (the flow around the spokes of the wheel) was my rotating reference frame and the outer part (the tire tread and above) was the normal domain; but it didn't work because convergence was bad and the physics were again not the expected. I'm sure that the parameters in this case were well set up (good center of rotation, mesh, etc.)

Anyone has any other idea or has been successful in modeling a similar case?

Thanks a lot!
