How to avoid walls in moving referance frame (MRF)
 

Hi,

wel come to all fluent users.

I am carrying out analysis work using Moving refrance frame. (MRF).

Model constitutes of a ratating blade.

While meshing i had created a small volume around the blade and substracted the blade volume to mesh. This resultant volume is rotating one.

This resultant volume is surrounded by another cylinder, which is stationary.

now after meshing and giving BC's when i import to *.msh format and opened in fluent, i am seeing a wall around a resultant volume circumferencially. This is not required. Actually fliud moves into it.

How to avoid this one.

in fluent, change this wall to interface. Read the Tutorial for the details

Hi,

i follwed the instruction given by you, but on giving intilisation command a error msg. is promted.

msg. is "WARNING: Unassigned interface zone detected for interface 1 " "Error: Init_Flow: unassigned interface_zones"

Define -> Boundary Conditions Do you see any wall shadow zones?

Select the interior walls in the zone list and select interior in the Type list.

Click Yes to confirm the changing of zone type If you do it correctly the wall and its shadow will be fused together to form one interior. Hope that will help

Sorry, the previous posting (I mean the old one not the one I have just posted) had that spelling mistake, I should have written interior not interface, sorry for that. It is the same fluid, the only difference is that you are going to define that interior as rotating

Hi,

It was very nice to see have a active concern to solve the problem.

But main thing is, when i read *.msh into fluent i am getting only wall zones, there are no shadow walls of them.

Second thing is i didnot find any option called "interior" in setting boundary condition window.

please help to solve this problem.
