Hi How to enable "population balance solver"?? where is it??

I can`t find it. Please help me.

it is with the new version of FLUENT.for old u have to write UDF.

Hello Guys, With Regards to PBE in FLUENT following are my pointers; 1. Yes it could be done with a UDF, 2. BUT now in upcoming versions of FLUENT 6.3 it is ported in built and can be obtained via a special license; it is like a add on, 3. The new version has three approaches to solve or to be specific to integrate PBE they are; DPB, QMOM, Standard method of moments, 4. It has inbuilt breakage and coalescence models. For breakage it carries Luo and Svendsen (1996) and for coalescence it carries Luo (1993) model. It has been well validated for bubble columns and crystallization. you can check on these listed references for the theory of model in FLUENT. Let me know you coordintes and I will be happy to answer your querries in these regards! Following are the references you may like to consider: Chen, P., J. Sanyal and M. P. Dudkuvoic, 2005. "Numerical Simulation of Bubble Columns: Effect of Different Break up and Coalescence Closures", Chem. Eng. Sci., 60, 1085-1101. There are few more from the same gropu which I leave for you to figure out. With all that I should add few caution notes: 1. PBE is a fine tuning to the problem, 2. In order to have a good estimate of the results one must look into interphase closure techniques and schemes. For instance bubble columns, pipe require accurate description of them. 3. Computational requirements are high in this problem hence acess to clusters or supercomputers may seem to be desirable. Few books which you can begin with are; Ramkrishna D. Hello folks out there i have a problem with writing a UDF for anti-solvent crystallization process. i want to use the DEFINE_ADJUST and DEFINE_SOURCE in this situation with three phases such as water, rdx and acetone mixture and the formation of rdx itself.
