Re: how to find out torque in fluent

hai, thank u for the reply! as u said, i have the forces of x,y,z components.and my wind turbine is rotating about the x axis. if i want to find the torque, what should i do? should i take the x component force and multiply by the distance? if so,what distance should i take.the total length of the prototype blade is 170mm. the force at the report indicates what? please explain me in detail. if possible send me some literatures on that. waiting for reply! thank u!

you have the possibility to compute the torque Report/Forces Then in Option, choose Moment and define your moment center

alright, i've been trying to do something similar but i'm using ansys 13, and i can't find the option to calculate torque in fluent. it may seem a bit silly but it'd help me a lot.

Slide 32 and 33 in this reference should be all you need. These slides are for FLUENT 6 I believe, but little has changed here. Indeed, report - forces - moments and choose the proper axis.
