Compressible flow with the Eulerian model
Hello I want to know why the compressible flow is not allowed when we use the Eulerian model? Is it a probleme of stability? Is it possible tu use a UDF for the density that simulate the compressible ideal gas? In fact, I'm modeling a supersonic flow (and the tailpipe is sonic). The blast impact a fluidized bed, and i want to track the move of particles of this fluidized bed (this is particle of sand) thanx

Re: Compressible flow with the Eulerian model
Why do you think compressible flows are not allowed in eulerian model ??
(I've been working with it for a while !) |
Re: Compressible flow with the Eulerian model
I think compressible flows are not allowed in eulerian model because hen I read the user guide fonction, it said: "Compressible flow is not allowed." (24.1.3, p.1407) And when i choose the Eulerian, I can't put "ideal gas" for my primary phase. But if you can use it, tell me how to do! It will be very helpful for me. Thank you

Re: Compressible flow with the Eulerian model
I don't know... I simply chose my Euler options (inviscid), coupled explicit (for my study). Energy on (optional. turns on automatically when activating "ideal gaz") and then ideal gaz...
I've just finished my fluent official formation, and they didn't tell me that was impossible. Check your local distributor, or your fluent's correspondant. Here is what I have : http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/2418/sanstitre2dz.jpg Hope that helps. |
Re: Compressible flow with the Eulerian model
Thank you for you're help! But when i talk about the Eulerian model, I'm tlaking about the Eulerian multiphase model. I'm not sur that we're talking about the same thing!?!
I appreciate you"re help... And if i'm in a mist tell me. thanx |
Re: Compressible flow with the Eulerian model
Yes indeed, we're not talking about the same thing !
I've never been working with the multiphase model. I won't be able to help you more ! But if you can't find yourr answer here and if you bought Fluent (and I hope so ! ;-) you should have an access to the hotline, with an experimented help. Bonne chance ! |
Hi, Even I am working on Compresible multiphase problem and facing the same issues. I am able to change to ideal gas, but not at all able to converge . Did u find the solution??

2003
http://jullio.pe.kr/fluent6.1/help/html/ug/node733.htm It's not allowed to use compressible flow with Eulerian model. Inviscid flow is not allowed as well. 2006 https://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Flu...ug/node950.htm You can define only one compressible fluid phase. Another compressible fluid phase could be achieved by UDF. Inviscid flow is still not allowed. I found that the problem maybe the boundary condition and the operating pressure location, since the pressure field is shared by all phases. However, I don't know how to solve this now. |
