HOW POROUS MEDIA WORKS? Please help me!

HI, everybody

I have a question. I know that question is answered in the Users Guide but I didn't understand anything.

If any body could explain me HOW WORKS THE POROUS MEDIA PARAMETERS? I mean What mean every parameter in the porous media window like:

- Direction Vector-1

- Direction Vector-2

- Viscous Resistance

Direction 1

Direction 2

Direction 3

- Inertial Resistance

Direction 1

Direction 2

Direction 3

- Fluid Porosity

Porosity

Solid Material

I will be so grateful if somebody could help me. I am almost finishing my project.

THANKS in advance,

GOOD JOB ALL THE USERS OF CFD-ONLINE.COM

PEACE, JORDI

Re: HOW POROUS MEDIA WORKS? Please help me!

Porous Media are particular zone of fluid. These zones are implemented as hydraulic resistences by fluent. The model follow Darcy low in which is espressed deltaP between media as a function of porosity. To describe inertial effect it's also an inertial component to. This model is solved in dfferent way by fluent solver so u must introduce the right variables to do this. Each variable is well explained in user guide manual at underchapter of boundary condition : porous media! good job regards Adriano

Thanks Adriano, but I need more help because I read the User's Guide but I need the range of values of each parameter.

THANKS a lot!

REGARDS & PEACE!
