GAMBITcrash

Hi all,
I'm having problems while meshing my geometry in GAMBIT. I'm trying to use sizing functions. For the moment, I'm trying to specify a very coarse mesh using the sizing function just to see how the mesh looks. But whatever I do, GAMBIT crashes and the message displayed says that a fatal error has occured. Also, it says that some of the faces could not be meshed. When I try to mesh according to the heirarchy (i.e. edges, faces, volume) too, the program crashes. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks, Vidya |

Hi Vidya,
Did u check whether there is/are any common face/s in ur model. If there is a common face(shared by two volumes), generally gambit doen't mesh it properly. So check it once |

Hi Madhkar,
There are some common faces in my geometry. This is because my model is enclosed in a cylinder and I subtracted the volume of the model from that of the cylinder to get the flow domain. So I think that's where the common faces were created. But how do I do away with them? Will they affect my geometry? Or is there any other solution? Thanks, Vidya |
