---y component of velocity i.e. V velocity

Hi I am simulating compressible, laminar, stedy flow with ideal gas law. The flow 2D in parallel plate chennl flow. After simulating I get both x and y component of velocity. I am confusing with y component of velocity. So far I know in parallel plate channel flow I should get only x component of velocity. Why I get y component of velocity can anyone explain me? Thanks.
