Help with splitting volumes and meshing
Hi,
I have a complex geometry that I'm trying to mesh. But whatever I do, the meshing operation fails. I have some bad edges and sharp angles and faces, and I do not know how to fix them. I tried to use the clean up operations, but wasn't successful. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can someone tell me how the split volumes operation helps in meshing the geometry? On what basis do we select the faces or edges to split with? Please help since I'm struggling with this problems for a long time now. Thanks and regards, Vidya |

Vidya,
Dont worry, these are simple issues which can be fixed easily. Let me know if you can send me the geometry? Sundar |
Re: Help with splitting volumes and meshing
Hi,
select a volume which is to be splitted and then select a face which is pasing through the volume. i hope this will work for you. bye san |

Sundar,
What's your e-mail address? I can send you my geometry and then perhaps you'll be able to help me out. Thanks, Vidya |
Re: Help with splitting volumes and meshing
Hi San,
I have my model enclosed inisde a cylinder. Then I subtracted the volume of the model from that of the cylinder to get the flow domain. So now I have one single volume after the subtraction and that is the one that I'm dealing with. So there's no face that passes thru the cylinder volume as the entire model is enclosed within it. So now, how do I use the splitting technique? Thanks, Vidya |
Re: Help with splitting volumes and meshing
the split volumes operation helps to connect two volumes
