Hi,

May be this is a newbie question. I am using GUI in FLUENT. However, the place where I use the computer suffer from no electricity from time to time, which make the saved files become problematic or simply lost when I return the next day.

Can anyone please tell me how can I do something such that FLUENT will save data and case files and then exit automatically? (when I am not around)

Thank you.

Hi cinwendy,
you can do it with a UDF.
You can also go to Calculation Activities menu and set Autosave Every (Iterations) (but in this menu you can't set the automatic exit)

Regards

Hi, thanks for all the suggestions.

I couldn't UDF at all. I am still trying to figure out what's wrong.

I am thinking about using commands in the "calculation activities", because I have seem example of using it to save picture automatically. But I really have no idea about those commands.

And, yes I can save the data file automatically. My concern is, since I am using GUI, 1, what about the case file? 2, I want FLUENT to exit as soon as the calculation is done.

Thank you!
