3d symmetric problems in 2d

how can we solve a 3d problem with a symmetric geometry(like a hemisphere by revolving about an axis) using 2d fluent.

thnx

It's the axisymmetric model (start fluent 2d, then go to Define->Models->Solver and switch to the Axisymmetric model).

I recommend looking over the tutorials and the manual.

Good luck, Jason

Don't forget that the x-axis must be the asix of symmetry.

That's all in the manual.
