CFD spray modelling
Very soon I will be starting to model a physical spray atomization's simulation.
Real problem: Air and water (usually to ration of 3A:1W )are enclosed in a plastic can and it has a small nozzle at the front.you slam (deform) the back end of the can and it produces a spray.[ Also remember that the total volume of the can is only 130 microlitre(.000031gal)]
does any body had done this before and know the formulation of the problem instead of me iterating from scratch, since spray spans a wide array of applications(such as aerosol cans, fuel injectors,spray guns).
Right now what I have in mind is: multi-phase problem Discrete phase model Transient problem( with some time span guessing 1 sec) K-e epsilon turbulence model particle coupling boundary conditions(?)
Ideally what i want to do is a motion deformable mesh i.e when you put real force on the back end of the can and it deforms and puts some amount of psi on the liquid and air and then water coming out through the nozzle produces a spray( the nozzle also has a vortex chamber and all).
Please advice if you any suggestions

I have been trying to simulate spray atomization for my injector which has two concentric orifices, that is one circular orifice for air and surrounding this orifice another annular circular orifice for water. Water comes out from this annular orifice with swirling (as well as axial) velocity. Please suggest me how to model this using Fluent. I have tried with VOF, dpm k-epsilon turbulence model. I need to know that while simulating 2-d conditions is it necessary to give swirl velocity for water inlet condition, I mean 2-d analysis takes account of tangential component of velocity or it ignores while computing 2-d case. It would be great if you can suggest something. Thank you very much
