Meshing problem

Hi,

I have a complex geometry with skewed edges, small faces, large angles etc. I couldn't use the clean up commands in Gambit because it either didn't work or distorted the geometry. The geometry was created in Pro/E.

I have to create a volume mesh. When I tried to do this,I get the following errors:

1. The matching of existing meshes on opposite ends of a sweep failed.

2. Splitting of existing meshes on a source face (face 213) is not implemented yet.

What do these errors mean and how can they be fixed?

Thanks, Vidya

Re: Meshing problem

First try to do edge meshing on all the edges,..... and then do face meshing using default spacing and then do the volume meshing,....

if it doesn't work,... use other meshing softwares like hypermesh

Re: Meshing problem

Hi Rams,

I tried meshing according to the heirarchy- edges, faces, volumes....... but Gambit crashed when I did this. It wouldn't mesh the volume at all.

Any suggestions?

Re: Meshing problem

Gambit does gives problem in meshing at the contact between two parts in geometry,... if the geometry has sharp corners or the contact area is less then it wont mesh correctly,...

what u do is u mesh all the edges with the finess u want and then mesh faces and volume without specifying anything but allowing the gambit to decide the spacing and interval,....

try this ,.......
