Mesh Size Calculation.

Hi guys, I am just a novice in Fluent and Gambit. I had a question about meshing in Gambit. I need to make design for downhole equipments in drilling application. I needed to know whether there is any calculation for deciding average mesh size. I know about equation involving Courants number, but my study is not time dependant. So I would really appreciate if anyone could reply on any equation which would help me in deciding the mesh size.

Thanking in anticipation.

Re: Mesh Size Calculation.

Hi

I don't know what you really mean by "Courants number", but I think that You may try to use a resonable mesh size after a person working in your subject, and decrease the mesh size till you results have no changes then you will know what mesh size you want.
