coupling fluent with another software ???

hello mates. has anyone ever tried to execute an externel program at the end of iterations via udfs or any other way? I am tring to read in source terms for uds from an other software that is to calculate the source terms from the temperature profile obtained from fluent. I tried ansi c standart system commands but could not succeed. any suggestions will be very usefull.
