Is "operating density" sensitive to the resluts?

Here is my understanding of Operating Density in Fluent:

Use Tref= initial flow temp, then calculate Density_ref based on p/density = RT. However, because of combustion at the bottom of the domain, the flow temp changed very quickly and highly non-uniform. Anybody had the problem with the operation density? If the pressure outlets at low level and high level have quite different temp, will the results be sensitive to the operating density?

Thanks.

Joe
