Turbulent Forced Convection
I am trying to model forced convection with a gas flow through a carrier pipe and cooling water flowing through the annular space between the carrier pipe and a jacket pipe. There do not seem to be any tutorials that are this specific.
Since I am new to Fluent, does anyone have any directions or suggestions on how to accomplish this? |
Re: Turbulent Forced Convection
hi!
I guess, your flow is turbulent, so 1. generate a grid. Take care, that the yplus values at the walls, where the heat transfer will take place are in a good range (allowable range for yplus depents on the wall modell you are using - check near wall treatement section in Fluent manual) to estimate yplus check: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/main...cgi?read=44320 2. in Fluent, select the appropiate wall modell and start simulating! The near wall treatment is VERY important for heat transfer problems. There is a strong dependency of wall modells, yplus and HTC. basically, thats it! Ralf |
