Implementation of heterogeneous rates_Coal_Gasific

Hello,
I want to simulate coal gasification using Erlerian-Eulerian two-fluid model. To implement the reaction kinetics between gas and solid phases, it seems there are two methods: (1)Using particle surface reactions(Define/model/species/ particle surface) (2)Using UDF(define/phases/interaction/reactions/num of het_rxn) Now, my questions are: 1. What is the difference and application limitation for the two routes? 2. Can "particle surface reactions" be implemented in the two-fluid Erlerian framwork? or, it is only used in the case of the descrete-phase model? 3.In addition, how to implement arbitary rate models by breaking the boring limitation of Arrhenius kinetics in FLUENT. After, the former is what we want. I do not know why FLUENT company still sticks to Arrhenius kinetics which is evidently inconvenient for incororating realistic kinetic rates. Please help me out.
