CFX function in Fluent

Is there a method of interpolating the results from one .dat file onto a different .cas file with the same (or very similar) geometry but a different grid. This was really very easy with CFX but I can't find how to do it with fluent.

In the old case and data you have to write an interpolation file (File->Interpolate) then in your new case you can read in the interpolation file (File->Interpolate). Make sure to setup your case first, especially the values in the "initialize" window. Wherever there's a cell in your new geometry that is outside of the previous domain, it will use the values in the initialize window to fill in the gaps... if you don't set those, it'll put zeroes there and that can cause problems when you first start iterating.

Good luck, Jason

Thanks very much, that is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't know where to look in the manual, but with your help, it appears to be in section 4.14. I am sure your useful tips will come in handy too.

Out of interest. I used fluent a while ago, and I don't remember that feature being there. Was it in v5?

Cheers.

I don't know if it was in v5. I know it was in 6.2, but I'm pretty sure it went back to 6.0. Beyond that I really don't remember.
