turbulence
I want to plot rms velocity plots for turbulenct channel flow. At what part of the channel should i plot this data. I have been told to plot the data on a line cutting through the centre of the domain, is this correct??

Re: turbulence
If you are using an straight channel with circular cross section, it's OK because the solution is axisimetric.
good luck |
Re: turbulence
Its a straight rectangular section with periodic boundaries in stream and spanwise directions. Is that ok?

Re: turbulence
David, I don't undestand the periodic boundary in spanwise direction. Is an open channel with cross flow?
Sorry, I was confused about you first question, because i was thinking about a circular straight close channel and to plot the rms velocity in a line inside a cross section. But I think you should plor the rms velocity in a cross section |
