Fluent -post

Hi there, the Fluent FAQ mentions that if you open Fluent with 'fluent -post' Fluent opens as a purely post processing unit without the solver leaving the license free. Has anyone used this feature? Does it work? Is it for a certain version? I am so far unable to get it to work and it sounds like a useful tool.

Any help would be gratfully recieved, Cheers, Dan.

Re: Fluent -post

The ability to use fluent -post depends on your licensing.

In order to use fluent -post and still have the fluent solve license available, you must have a regular fluent license and a fluent post only license.

Fluent -post licenses are cheaper, but they still cost extra. If you only have a fluent solve license, fluent -post will not do you any good, as it will take the only available license which is the fluent solve license.

But in answer to your question, I use the fluent -post option quite often and it is very useful. You can literally do everything but solve (including setting up BCs, initializing the solution, etc...)
