What is mixture fraction variance?

Hello Users,

In the non-premixed combustion model, what is mixture fraction variance, and more importantly how should it be specified at the the fuel inlet?

Thanks, Hugo.

f=prom(f)+f'

i think f'=0 at le inlet, in fact i've done

Hi I am trying to ignite the mixture(N2/Ar/O2/nc7h16): 58/30/10.307/0.562 by mole fraction I made the species PDF using the chemkin file . The mixture is as fluid for the mesh body which will be compressed by piston. So I put mixture fraction and mixture variance as zero- in initilaisation . Is this correct for a compression stroke in the 2D asymmetric plane

If the Initial temperature need to be 298K ... I am not getting that as initial temperature I am getting 336K...

Dear frd

I am not getting pressure due to insufficient mixture quantity in my closed system... how to initialize the mass or quantity... As there is no inlet boundary.. but it will be closed vessel compressed case...
