Hi everyone.
My problem concerns forced transition on a 2D LP turbine blade. I have read the posted notes on this issue but i still have problems. I have split my domain into two zones at the known point of transition (from experiment) - i have done this in the Gambit pre processor. In Fluent 6.2. i have checked the box 'laminar zone' for the upstream zone and left the downstream region as default and run the model with a Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model. The solution runs and converges but will always produce the same result as if i had just run the turbulence model throughout the whole flow field. I'm sure that if i plot contours of turbulent viscosity then i should see a uniform result for the laminar region and then changes once the turbulence production and destruction is engaged in the turbulence model???!! The same result is achieved using a variety of turbulence models. Does anyone have the answer? Could there be problems with my periodic boundaries or that i havent correctly defined an interface between the two zones?? Please help! Ed |
