Writing a CFD code
Hello everyone, and thanks for reading my post. I wonder if there is any possibility of writing my own CFD code and using Matlab, MathCAD, etc to generate the results. I am having problem with FLUENT in using the NIST properties in recognizing water as a fluid. It only allows the calculation of water as a steam. I don't know how to change that. Regards Ernesto

Re: Writing a CFD code
John Anderson wrote a good text on finite difference cfd coding. Maybe that would be a good place to start. Matlab would be ideal for this kind of work,

Re: Writing a CFD code
Yes u can do that but u need to output the values to excel sheet or notepad as dat file. Fluent provides very flexible output file format. (Example: Plot ---> XY Plot ---> write to file.) Once there, if you are familier with matlab progamming u can utilze xlsread function in matlab to utilize the output files. Alternatively u can use Fieldview or techplot etc to export ur parameters to these well known and highly advanced softwares for post processing.
