modifying turbulent flow equations

Hello,

is it possible to modify the modeling equations in fluent. I'm trying to do research on improving certain models, for example i'm trying to add terms to the k-epsilon model to see if i can improve it. i'm interested in running the modified model in fluent. is that possible?

Thank you.

Re: modifying turbulent flow equations

Mr. Fadi, It is possible to modify the equations. I am not sure which model especially you want to modify but yes you can add source terms provided Fluent allows an UDF hook to it. I am not sure if you are working with mutliphase flows but my experience with modifications lie in mutliphase turbulence especially with dispersed k-e approach in Eulerian _ Eulerian frame work. We can discuss our views and Ideas if you are interested and working along the same lines. Good Luck! KP

Re: modifying turbulent flow equations

Hello, I was checking the UDFs and the DEFINE macros. it seems i can only change the viscosity equation. what i want is to replace the two k-e equations that form the k-e model with two new equations that I made and run the solver. what i want to do is compare the k-e model vs. the model i want to write.
