How to split the acr edge in FLUENT?
 

The object I want to calculate is a 2-D sector domain, whose corner angle is 90deg. I wonder that is there any method in FLUENT could to seperate the arc edge of the sector into 30deg and 60deg two parts. Because temperature is different in these two parts. Thanks!

to seperate an edge in 3 equal parts is easy : split edge / split with point u-value 0.333333

if you then split the longer remaining edge with an u value of 0.5 you have 3 edges with the same length.

Thanks. I want to know whether I could split the arc edge in FLUENT? Because I have finished geometry and grid in GAMBIT already.

What I do for separating already defined BC's in Fluent is using adapt-mark (do NOT adapt) and then go to grid-separate-faces and use the registers to separate the BC into sections.

The trick is to define the register as you want using adapt and if your mesh is fine enough to give you a nice cut.

In order to have a register in the grid-separate-face you need to first define the register. One method that I know you can create register is to use adapt. You can use adapt-region and define a zone that covers part of the BC you are interested in cutting.

For example if you have an inlet at x=0 from y=-1 to 1; mark a zone covering the whole range of x but your y will be from -1 to 0 only. Then mark this zone and you have a register. Now in grid-separate-face you see the register and you can cut the BC by choosing the register.
