apply thermal BC for several zones

Hello,

i have to apply some BC on several zones, about 50. i might do that for a different model as well... so i'm trying to avoid GUI. i cannot group most of the zones because of different materials and BC. i have tried to use the journal and scheme files but it does not work.

from a journal file:

(cx-gui-do cx-set-real-entry-list "wall-16-1*Frame4*Frame1(Thermal)*Frame1*Frame1(Thermal Conditions)*Table7*RealEntry15(Wall Thickness)" '( 5))

i have tried to change 5 into a variable... but it doesn't work. i also have to change the zone: wall-16.

i have also tried "copy BC", but in the scheme file it does not pass the "Warning*OK".

Thank you very much for your help!!!

io.

Instead of using the GUI journal file commands try using the TUI commands to do the boundary conditions and save them into a text only journal file. If you are going to use this on several cases with same bounary entities ...which have same face and zome numbers all you need to do is read the journal file. It has worked well for me before...let me know if you need further information.

Hi SV,

Thank you for your advice! I was planning to use TUI commands... and i found some examples of scheme commands. so, i managed so far to build the journal file, using the convection, thickness, flux a.s.o. as variables, in a loop.

further on... my problem will be to use easy this journal file when changing the face and zone numbers... for different cases.

i really hope it will work for me!

should i encounter problems, i will let you know! thanks again SV!
