how to set boundary condition for a tank filling w

Hi, how to set the Boundary conditons for a tank which is filled with tank (not completely ) under transient conditions. Is it possible to do using Fluent software to analysis the temperature of the tank.

thank you,

namrata

give wall conditions with heat tranfr option on! for transient analysis u can either define the time variatio or simply set the time step!

hi gopal would u kindlysuggest is it possible to tackle the problem as my domain is changing...

as the tank is filling with water....

thank you for your previous response any idea on this is welcome..

hi! if the domain is changing, you hav only one option that is dynamic mesh.but that takes a lotta computational effort.but please tell me vat isexactly the problem you want to solve?

hello; for simulation of tank filling you should set inlet part with "velocity inlet" and use fine mesh in your model and use "unsteady model".its better that your modeling in gambit made in "milimeter" scale. the best regards.

if the tank also has air in it then are you using the multi-phase model? You should be for 'free surface flows', unless I have misunderstood the problem.
