Hi,
looking at the error, it seems that u shud be compiling the UDF (and not interpreting it) Just check out if you properly installed the C compiler in your machine. check out with following commands in command prompt. ** link/version ** cl with these commands you should get the version of the compiler suggested for the your present Fluent version thanx, -Guru. |

This is the standard result when there is some problem with the installation of visual studio. It is possible to install VS without properly setting up the command line version, and then Fluent can't find it. Try this:
1) Open a command window 2) Enter "nmake" (no quotes) - note the result As far as I know, if the result is "'nmake' is not recognized... etc", then Fluent won't be able find nmake. You'll either need to reinstall VS or fix the current installation. Jason |

When you install VS, make sure you allow it to add information to the environmental PATH-variable in Windows (if using a Windows machine). Otherwise, Fluent won't be able to find nmake when you want to compile. You may have to restart your computer after having installed VS for this to take effect as well.

At what point did you make the selection, and is that the exact wording? Any details you can provide would be helpful. I ask because I would like to include this info in the Fluent FAQ, and I have not installed VS myself (for Fluent purposes, anyway).

Yes, that should help. I'll add it to the FAQ soon.
