Default Pressure loss prediction

Hallo..

I have a case of pressure loss prediction of a control valve (3d problem).

4 boundary areas: -Inlet section (condition: pressure inlet) -Outlet section (condition: ????) -Pipe wall (condition: wall) -Valve disc wall (condition: wall)

My input are: -Geometry -Inlet flow data (p,T,W..)

I want to obtain the valve outlet pressure using K-Epsilon.

What's the best way for you? What conditition can I set (best way) for the outlet section?

See if this demo helps you.. although this is in CFX but could help you...

In your case you could use:

Inlet velcity BC Outlet pressure BC (0 value)

Pressure drop will be pressure developed at inlet.

Well,

The "inverse" medology (inlet velocity-outlet pressure) is very nice, I will try it now for the CV prediction....

The CFX demo is nice too, but I think it's very simple because the input data are the inlet total pressure and the outlet staic pressure:

INLET: Total pressure = 12psi OUTLET: Average static pressure (0Pa)

Ok,

case with inlet velocity and outlet pressure: I tried a inviscid test and the results are great!

Of course, I can't evaluate the pressure drop by inviscid calculation bat I think the guideline is ok.

Now I have K-Epsilon convergence problems, but i hope it's a grid problem.....

We'll see...
