Hi All;

I am supposed to be modeling Solid Oxide Fuel Cell; I have two options either use Fluent or I have to do it myself.

I went thought the SOFC manual in fluent but there are no clear limitations on the model.

I just need advice should I proceed with Fluent or just change directions from the beginning.

I will be looking in so many aspects of the fuel cell starting from the main flow ducts with different shapes and configurations to the ditails of the reactions and electric output.

my main concern in can Fluent implement internal reforming of the fuel and the break up of hydro carbons due to heat in relation with eclectic current output or not.

Thanks;

huza

Now I am doing projects in modeling of PEMFC using Fluent. I have no experience about SOFC, but I can say something about my thought. Fluent, CFX, Star-CD etc. only are tools to model your system. You should put your energy in the theory of the system rather than these software.What function is every component in your system, What's your purpose you want to get, how do you get the results including governed equations and boundaries condition? And then you try to write an UDF to implement your idea and understand deeply the subroutine of SOFC in fluent. I think you will get much more than what you expect. Actually, the subroutine of SOFC in Fluent was witten according to several papers. I suggest you find firstly these references and read them, and then read the sofc manual.

Good luck, Braket
