Default Skewness & Decomposition

Hi,

Unknowingly, I've been running simulations where a low number of elements in a VERY complicated flow region have very high skewness. Unfortunately, I only realized this well into processing my simulations.

I have since attempted to replace the very tight corners which were causing the skewness. However, this has made it practically impossible to make use of a rectilinear mesh.

Aside from changing the geometry, are there other approaches that can be used to fix skewness?

Thanks in advance.

If you are using Fluent 6.3, trying making polyhedra from the skewed cells to reduce the skewness. This helps most of the time.

Not sure I completely understand. Should I redesign the entire face that's a problem? I am unfamiliar with how to manipulate the actual cells (aside from very cumbersome methods) in the way you mention.

Thanks for the help so far.
