Hi Everyone.

I am trying to analyze the mixing of two different fluids entering tangentially into a cylindrical mixing chamber. I am using velocity inlet BC for both entrances. The chamber has one outlet and it has pressure outlet BC imposed on it. The model is three dimensional and I would like to keep it that way(For comparison with literature available to me). The flow is laminar and there is no reaction between the two fluids.

Can someone tell me how should I proceed with it?

depends on whether u r using a steady state or transient analysis?

u can use VOF or the mixture model... I assume that the fluids r immiscible.

If your fluids aren't different phases you should just use the basic species transport equations.

For fuel air mixing writing a udf to plot the equivalence ratio tells you if the mixing is correct.

Remember for swirling flows you need to increase the cell density towards the centreline. You should also use a structured grid in the important downstream area.
