Default LES or RANS ?

I'm trying to model a co-axial flow into a dead end tube.I hope to extract concentration profiles and velocity fields.

1. How do I decide between LES and RANS ?

2. Will my mesh be different for both the cases ?

3.How can I perform time averaging on the .dat files without having to extract specific columns from the file using MATLAB ?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks !

1. Depends on what you are trying to achieve, your computational resources, Reynolds number, ...

2. For true LES, very different. For DES, possibly the same.
