1. mesh the face (wall) with a small mesh and then you can mesh the volume.

if itīs not enough, split your volume with an parallel wall...

Hi

Start meshing that wall (face), and then use the "Boundary layer" option to grow that mesh near the wall. You can also ued a "size function" for the whole domain starting from that wall (face).

Hi

To create a size function, go to "tools command button", then to "sizing-function command butoon". Leave "Type" fixed as it is. In the case of 3D modeling, I'd choose "faces" for Source to start the meshing from. For "Attachment", choose the volume that contains that source face. Be careful about choosing the right face/volume in the desigated areas (the box with the yellow background is what you are filling). The "Start size" for meshing must be reasonable, "Growth rate" better not exceed 1.2 (20 percent growth as the mesh gets further away from the "source" face). Specify a "Maximum size" for the mesh. When the maximum mesh size is reached, further cells will have the same size as the maximum size specified. Give it a name (Label).

Now go to meshing and pick that volume WITHOUT picking the "ignore size function" button. Choose the "Tet/hybrid" if you have a nonuniform shape. Apply.

Here is a trick! Right- then Left-click the mouse buttons quickly. A circle will appear instead of the arrow for the pointer. use this to choose the "source" and "Attachment" right from the domain. If you want the arrow back again, right- then left-click the mouse again.

Good luck
