Hi everybody. It seems I got serious troubles. For my final dissertation, I have to develope a cfd simulation (using Fluent) to investigate how a gear pump works. The problem is that I'm an absolute beginner in this matter, and at the moment I don't know anybody who can really help me. My goal is to determine the velocity field, the pressure field and the instantaneous flow rate. I have a lot of material (books, articles, original Fluent tutorials and pdf), but no clear criteria about how to use or select it to carry out an effective/efficient job. Therefore, I will be grateful to anybody who can give me significant suggestions. Thank you in advance.

You have write udf for assigning motions to gear pump, mesh very finely and chek the flow. Pl. specify us about BC your are going to apply

Sorry, what "udf" and "BC" stand for? Regarding motion, let's suppose n = 1500 rpm (costant). I'm talking about a common gear pump, with two identical spur gears, inlet and outlet ducts which simmetrically lead to and leave from the zone where the gears match. Moved fluid: oil. Thank you.

I am also having trouble with fluent. You mentioned in your original post that you had a lot of books on fluent. What are these books? I have not been able to find any fluent reference books.
