dynamic mesh on a hexa grid
Hi Everyone

I am trying to simulate motion of a ship using dynamic mesh feature. The domain has been discretized using hexa mesh.

Mesh smoothness on all shapes have been activated using following text command-

The problem I am facing is that, the above text command doesn't takes care of mesh smoothness on the plane of symmetry, though it ensures smooth internal volume mesh.

Mesh on the plane of symmetry :

Mesh on an internal plane parallel to the plane of symmetry:

Please help.

Re: dynamic mesh on a hexa grid
i wouln't work with smooth. Thus you have an hex grid, so I would use the layering feature. it is quite simple.

Re: dynamic mesh on a hexa grid
In my case the moving grid is translating as well as rotating. How do I implement layering feature.

Re: dynamic mesh on a hexa grid
the layering feature is available under define/dynamic mesh/parameters enable the layering option under mesh method.

for the rotatition motion, I don't know exactly how is exactly your geometry, but I assume you can work with sliding mesh

How to activate"spring-all-shapes"?
hi dear all...
i faced an error message, negative cell volume detected,i think if i activate spring-on-all shapes this error does show again, but i do not know hoe to activate it in ansys 12.0,
any help will be appreciated...
