Hi everyone, I'm trying to create a volume mesh from a surface mesh (that is created in Gambit) in the TGrid. There are no problems in relation to free nodes or unused nodes. The Highest skewness in my surface meshs is 0.845. but when I'm trying to creat the volume mesh from it, TGrid can not create initial mesh. It give me an error that there are something around 250 nodes that can not be meshed. I don't know what can I do about it. can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance

Generally when your mesh is not initialized, the mesh surface have problems, you must check if there's not duplicated shells or shells intersecting themselves. if all above it's ok, you must check that your mesh has an element distribution uniform to avoid all kind of problems that you're finding. So the skew must > 0.75. Other think, you must check in Control menu, improve quality.

Hi,

Thanks Diego for your reply. I checked my surface mesh and there were no problems like duplicated shells or shells that are intersected with each other, but I don't understand about improve quality in the control menu. Could you help me where I can find some descreptions about it? (I also don't find why must my grid has the skew greater than 0.75?)

Best regards

hi, you can try with "add interior nodes" and "perturb nodes" option in automesh controls panel. also increase the number of attempts.(let us say 10 instead of 4 default).

Hi,

Thanks a lot Vyankatesh for your reply. I respect your advice and got this error:

"Error: face_ctr outside c47130 circumsphere. Error Object: ()

Mesh initialization not completed."

Could you tell me why I get this error and how I can mesh my volume?

check for the free nodes. if not then better improve the surface mesh.
