reversed flow during RNG in turbulence-k epsilon
 
friends,

I am doing CFD-analysis using FLUENT and GAMBIT combination to solve TURBULENT FLOW THROUGH ORIFICE. While preferring RNG-K-epsilon model, I am getting reversed flow in various iterations.

I request anyone to help me out in getting rid of this situation.

In my experience, if you get all the set up correct, the reverse flow will go away after some iterations. If not, make sure you initialise the turbulent correctly, and if your domain ahs an outflow, you may want to increase the distanace of the outflow BC. Changing to pressure outlet may help too.

hello, i'm working with Fluent CFD and for your case you should changing the outflow BC to pressure outlet as mensioned in Fluent Help.

Apart from increasing the extent of the domain you can initialise the solution using lower values. Decrease the inlet velocity,total pressure or mass flow rate depending on what inlet BC your using then increase it throughout the simulation. This will minimise the amount of reversed flow reported by the TUI. Of course you can wait like Sham said till reversed flow stops but depending on your BC values this may take a while.

I am doing CFD-analysis using FLUENT and GAMBIT combination to solve ''supersonic air ejecteor''i choose pressure inlet1 and pressure inlet 2 and pressure outlet, I want to know if the reversed flow can influence the results,if yes i must to do what to avoid this message!
