How to mesh a conical pipe?

Hi,
I want to mesh a conical pipe and the diameters of both the open ends are 76 mm and 10 mm; respectively. Thus the smaller diameter is very small as compared to bigger one. I was just playing with different meshing scheme possibility. I would be highly thankful to you if you can share your experience of meshing conical pipe with me. Cooper option doesn't suits as one diameter is just 10 mm. your views are highly welcome. Thanks a ton, KM. |

one possibility is you cut your pipe with a zylinder with a diameter smaller then 10mm. So you get 2 Volumes. The inner zylinder is no problem to cooper. Cut the outer volume in 2 parts so that the `cut-faceŽ you get, can be coopered around the inner Zylinder.

Yes do as Gernot writes. It is a very clever solution.
I would suggest to make the inner cylinder the full diameter of 10 mm. If you look at it in 2D you only have a triangle left that you have to revolve and cooper around the existing cylinder. The triangle gets a base of (76-10)/2 = 33mm and some height. Then I would further suggest that you make the upper corner a "tri"-vertex by modifying the type in the face panel. In this way you can create a trielement in the sharp corner when you mesh it by pave or some other method. Hope this helps you further.. BR Kasper, |
