Default Is there need to use BL in 2D pipe

Hi I am using 2 D pipe I consider it as a rectangle with four vertices I increases the number of mesh near the wall by using first length and last length options available with mesh edges menu so I need to ask : is it necessary to create BL near the wall in this case?
