rotating wheels

How can I say to Fluent than car's wheels rotate? Is it in Gambit? Wheels are on the ground.

Thank you for helping me!!

Greg

Re: rotating wheels

well , use gambit for meshing first , then import to fluent . after that use docs or google to read on How dealing with the Dynamic meshes , or moving rotating frame I guess . Good luck

Re: rotating wheels

Actually there is a moving wall option in boundary conditions where can be specified speed, direction etc easily.

The mesh has not to be dynamic, just boundaries are moving.

Anyway, thank you Hussein

u can run as rotating wall bc, mrf zone, sliding mesh or moving/deforming mesh (first 2 run ss, last 2 run transient).

Re: rotating wheels

Hi,

In the case of rotating wheels, there is no modification of shape so mesh has not to move, the only things witch are modified are the boundaries condition (roughness etc)

Right now I have turbulent velocity in...300000 cells...I need to fix it!
