Tracer Problem

Hi.

I am working on a 2d problem. My domain is rectangular with a velocity inlet and a pressure outlet on left and right sides and wall on the top and bottom. I want to introduce a particle (or probably continous dye)in the center of the domain and track its path. I don't know how to do that. Can anyone please help?

Thanks.

Atha

Hi Atha,

If you are injecting dye dorplets, you can try the DPM (Discrete Phase Model) in fluent. This will be useful if you are interested in dye droplets and the mass loading of the total dye is low.

Hi ,

Thanks for your help. I have another question. If my orifice is not located on any of the edges but is somewhere in the middle of the domain then how and where (Fluent or Gambit)do I specify that?

Regards,

AK
