My fluent case: surface reaction on porous catalyst in a tube reactor. the detailed kinetic mechanism imported from chemkin file, reaction type is volumn and wall reaction in the porous zone. calculated with the finite-rate model and segrated solver -implicit. But after run, the reaction doesn't occur and the reaction rate always shows zero. why this happen? could anyone help me? Or can you provide me a case about this problem? thank you!

If you have the reaction rate equation (Arrhenius type or other type) put it in an Excel sheet and calculate to see the order of magnitude(with the scaled temperature and molar concentration). Sometimes you need to check the units. The rate equation should yield KMole/m3s in fluent(volumetric reaction). If you take the reaction model constants from any literature pls. check it.

hi Dear
I have a project like you (Jeff) mentioned here(I hope u read my Thread in this old post). Now I study the user guide of fluent but my mind is wandered to very things probably not need.(anyone that have good information) I would like guide me to best books, texts, sites,in this subject or even give me a case file and other things you think them help me. And at last please express what experimental data is required in porous catalytic reactor simulation in FLUENT(or CHEMKIN);also when can I use porous media model for packed bed catalysts (what is criterion).I appreciate you.
regards
